Frequently Asked Questions From Healthcare Professionals

How do you help a healthcare organization plan and design audiovisual technology?

By planning and designing systems to audiovisual industry standards rather than to those of a single medical equipment manufacturer, we enable our clients to choose from a wider variety of audiovisual equipment. Our brand-neutral approach saves money by providing surgeons with the equipment they need and want without locking the hospital into a costly, long-term contract for equipment and services.

We solve other challenges, too. For example, we understand the dynamics of architecture, engineering and construction. So we help clients through all phases of a project. We’re also well acquainted with acoustical and lighting design requirements, which are key – but often overlooked – elements of an audiovisual system.

What healthcare industry experience do you have?

Clients have retained us to plan and design projects ranging from large academic medical centers to community hospitals, simulation centers and medical office buildings.

Clinical projects typically include operating and interventional rooms for general surgery and neurosurgery, orthopedic, urology and intra-operative procedures. We also design audiovisual systems for hybrid operating rooms where combinations of procedures are performed. We work on non-clinical projects, too, such as auditoriums and meeting rooms. And we have considerable experience designing telemedicine and other video teleconferencing systems.

Our case studies provide examples of our work and the problems we've solved.

What value do you bring to the table?

First and foremost, we help our clients understand critical issues and think forward strategically. By offering independent, brand-neutral advice, we help our clients make informed decisions and simplify the process of vetting equipment suppliers.

In many cases, it’s a matter of asking the right questions at the right time. We see it as process of discovery, one that allows us to share best practices for planning next-generation systems and to draw on the power of collective intelligence. Right from the beginning, we seek to build collaborative relationships that are focused on a common goal. We add the most value by starting as early as possible on a project lifecycle. That better enables our clients to identify cost savings, ensure system flexibility, and avoid built-in obsolescence.
